IBM PRIDE FILM
To celebrate Pride 2017, IBM released an LBGTQ version of its iconic eight-bar logo. To amplify this, our team created a short film with IBM brand design executive Todd Simmons. I created all the motion graphics for the film, which focused on showing the individual colors of the LBGTQ flag and how those colors comprise the logo.
The logo was applied mainly across social media, but had especially high visibility on LinkedIn, where IBM has a significant audience of over 5 million followers.
EYE ON - SERIES TITLES
Focused on art, science, and technology, the Eye On series aimed to tell worthwhile stories of both IBMers and those in our surrounding community through documentary-style films. As a multi-part series, the films needed an overall visual style and titles to tie them together.
This was my first project in the world of motion design, wherein I developed the overall art direction for the titles and created the final animated sequence.
The concept for the titles was born out of wanting to highlight IBM’s iconic 20th iconic advertising and poster style. Curation credit goes to Sue Murphy’s lovely project Good Design is Good Business.
Using a combination of Paul Rand’s rebus eye with an underscore, we were able to create a brand for the series while also showing the focus areas for the films.
IBM IS MAKING - SXSW TITLES
At SXSW 2017, IBM had its biggest presence at the festival to date with the IBM is Making exhibition. As part of IBM’s programming, our team was asked to premiere two of the films we had been working on as part of the Good Fellows series.
I created opening titles that connected the films visually to the overall branding experience for the event.
